Includes correspondence, translations, manuscripts, etc. of Young E. Allison, III; and correspondence of his wife, Margaret Tarrant Allison, their children Young E. Allison, IV and Margaret Allison Nightingale, and other family members. Correspondence includes information on the 1937 flood, eastern Kentucky, racial attitudes, World War II, and atomic weapons. The World War II letters describe WAVE and Army Air Force training during the war, and contrast the social and housing conditions of commissioned and non-commissioned officers.
